Okay, yes I am new to this RC programming stuff, so I am sure this is a basic question. But here it goes anyway.
If I use one of the listed templates here (for my mx-3000) and all I want to do is change the device codes that the template uses, ie from a Denon X model to a Denon y model. How does the "play" button or the "input" button know what the new IR code is? Is there any tutorials for this?

It's the button_id and there is a great deal o dealer training on the subject, but if not there is plenty of talk about on this website on how to do it. Honstly your better off dragging and dropping the codes at this point if your a beginner.
