Has anyone been able to get web widgets up and running on the MX6000? I can't seem to figure out how to do it or if it is even possible... I read in the marketing material that they have preprogrammed widgets that can get sports, weather, etc.. However, I haven't seen them...

Yes, URC is adding widgets all the time. They currently support News, Weather, Sports, Stocks (although that one should be called bad news for me. It is available in the software and you need to configure your network in order to access them. Very cool stuff. If your a dealer you can get all the documentation on how to get them to work in the URC control room.

Where do you get the actual widgets? I don't see it in the CCP software... Is it located somewhere else? Or do you have to download the specific widget? If so, where do you download them? I have my MX 6000 all configured to get onto the internet... Just need widgets to get out there... Any help would be appreciated.

All you have to do is when you add a new device select "2 way device" from the drop down menu. You will see all the 2-way devices. Simply drag and drop. Then you need to worry about static IP addresses, network settings and the like.

I think i am confused... You are saying that the widgets come in the CCP software itself... you don't need to download them from anywhere? I was following your instructions and went to add a two way device, however, I don't see anything in the drop down menu that mentions web widgets... Is the widget supposed to be listed as a two way device? I don't see the widget as an option anywhere? I don't see any mention of the widgets in the instruction manuals or on the URC website... It is like they talk about them in their marketing materials, however, they never actually give them to you...

Do you have to have the PSX1 or 2 to get the web widgets to work? I would hope not..

Has anyone successfully programmed one of these web widgets on the MX 6000? If so, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know how you found it and did it...

You keep using the term "web widget," which isn't a term URC uses. Specifically, are you referring to the News, Sports, Weather, and Stocks RSS feed 2-way modules?

For the record (from URC's marketing info):
Internet Connection Provides Real Time News, Sports, Weather and Stocks

When the MX-6000 is connected to the Internet, pre-programmed modules enable instant access to personalized news, sports, weather and stocks. Unlike other devices, the MX-6000’s news, sports, weather and stocks modules are user-configurable without a programmer or a PC. On a whim, you can check out the opposing team’s scores, or get the weather forecast for a vacation destination. News, Sports, Weather and Stocks modules require that the MX-6000 be installed to a WiFi router with an Internet connection.

These are the 2-way modules Darnitol is referring to. "Personalized" is partially true, as the only way to truly personalize your choice is to modify some files and code

Sorry for the late response to this thread - I wasn't following it. When you said "widgets" I kind of knew what you meant but these are not widgets. They are basically wifi feeds that can be customized. Without going into every detail on how to set it up, basically you choose 2-way device when adding a new device via dropdown and the web feed icons are there. However, you must assign your PC a static IP address for best results, and configure the wifi and IP settings properly in the software. Stocks, news, weather, sports, and ipod PSx2 functionality is available as well as volume ramping and more are being considered/added often. I wouldn't reccomend doing this until your home network is tamed.
