This looks like it is going to be awesome. [Link: remotecentral.com]
I did not want to hi jack that thread, but I cant believe that there is so little about it here on the URC forums.
Sure looks like 2 way with DSC security systems to me, my guess is all you need is the DSC IT-100 RS232 moduel.
Hope the KP is available in at least the same colors as the KP 900 and it would be fantastic if you could change the hard buttons like the MX 980
Thanks URC !!! ben waiting for this one a long time

URC hasn't released enough info about it's ability's to give anyone much to talk about.
It does have potential!!
I can't wait to find out more!!

I think the new processor is the real highlight.

I am really hoping this touchscreen is all i hope for and more. I have been waiting for something like this to come for a long time. I'm not a huge fan of RTI (the company) so i don't like using their keypads/screens on my jobs. I have been trying my hardest not to use any Elan kp's/screens for all their many downfalls. So, hopefully this will be a homerun for me and my systems. It will be nice to program everything with the same software (KP's and remotes) and have both look similar. I do think that an MX 980 in a Keypad style would be a huge seller also. I'd like to have all/most of the hard buttons plus the color screen. That badboy plus the KP4000 plus some 980 or 5000 handhelds in a house would be amazing! URC thanks for this one now get to work on my Inwall 980!
Anyone know anything as far as release dates?

What will be the best way that it will interface with the PSX2? Client will be finishing house remodel around the 1st of the year and wants to see his iPod on a touchpanel. The K4 was OK with the FP1 dock but since the PSX2 only ouputs component it won't feed a K4. Looking forward to more info on this 4000.

KP-4000 will have a 2-way IP module for PSX-2. The same way that iPod menus, playlists, song data, cover art, etc. appear on the MX-5000 or MX-6000, they will appear on KP-4000.

The buttons are not removable and no other trim plates. I think this is a major mistake if it turns out this way. It would eliminate it from being an option in many homes.

Still not finalized, but I said $800 at CEDIA and $600 since then and no one is correcting me...Until the boss of bosses looks at the final numbers we really don't know, though.
