This is mind numbing. I've had an MX-3000 for awhile but never got around to programming it and voluntarily lent it to a buddy of mine who is, generally, not an idiot. When he took it, he did not have the 5v adapter for the cradle and then decided to plug in the 9v adapter from an MRF-350 figuring it was the same since it fit.

The 9v adapter no longer powers the mrf-350 and the remote did not charge and I now fear the worse. I've apparently misplaced the original adapter and went and bought a 5v number from Radio Shack to see if the remote was still alive. It indicated a full charge via the but the blue light but there are zero signs of life on the remote.

I do not know the amperage that the cradle accepts so I'm hoping the Radio Shack adapter is compatible.

Does anyone know if this is recoverable or is it all over but the crying?

Any input is appreciated for this newbie as my google searching has proved fruitless.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the reset button i.e. the little silver button next to the battery connection to no avail. Now, if I place the remote on the cradle, the red power light on the cradle goes off and the charging indicator shows nothing as well. It's not looking good. Crap.

Just for grins, remove the battery and put it on the charger. See if it powers up then. I had a bad battery once and the remote did nothing until I removed the battery and put it on the charger.
