Codes for this device aren't in the database (nor are codes for my television, DVD changer, single-disc DVD player, but I'll save those for another post), and I don't use a laptop - so sitting in front of the TV testing codes isn't really very feasible for me. Anybody know what to use to control this piece of equipment?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's a home theater receiver, probably 6 or 7 years old. Guess I can't fault URC for not having the codes - I can't even find a reference to the unit on Denon's web site. Amazon still has a page for it, but of course you can't order one.

Surely I'm not the only guy here with this particular unit? I found a file over in the Pronto section that has this unit as part of a Pronto file, but I don't know if I can get that into this remote.

Although now that I think about it, I have an old Pronto somewhere that still works. Guess I could download the file and then use the Pronto to teach the MX950.

Keep in mind that the same codes are shared across many models. Try other similar models and see how you do - my guess is you will be up and running in a few short minutes!
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

AVR- 95, or 895 or what have you are generally sold by alarm guys who think they can do A/V. Meaning I have only seen that line distributed in certain places. where alarm get their wire, contacts, and the likes.

Try Tom's advice, some of this line is much different that Denon's standard line though.

When good enough is not good enough.

Okay, well, I was afraid of that. As I said, I don't use a laptop, so it's probably going to take considerably more than a few minutes - but the point is taken.
