Here are the steps to program a button on your Comcast silver remote. Once done you can learn the code to your URC remote.

Here is the exact procedure to program a 30 second skip to the remote.

1) Press the "Cable" button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode.
2) Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks twice.
3) Type in the code 994. The "Cable" button will blink twice
4) Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button
5) Type in the code 00173 (for 30 second Skip).
6) Press whatever button you want to map the skip function to. (I mapped mine to the FAV button)

I have the Motorola 6416 and it uses the same code set. If you would like I can send you the component file but it would be in .mxg file format.

What remote are you using? If your using the factory remote then follow Garrett's instructions above.

Yea it sounds like he's just using the OEM cable box remote. Just more confusion about URC versus Universal Remote Controls in general.

I had the skip forward capability programmed on my Phazr UR5U-9020L-GC but it wore out and the technicians do not remember how to program the replacement (same model). Do you know how to program a 30 second or one minute skip forward on the Phazr UR5U-9020L-GC?

Thank you for any assistance you extend to me on this matter.
