Programming a MX900.

The IR database has the codes for a Toshiba 3950 DVD. But they do not work. As a matter of fact none of the database codes for Toshiba DVD will work. And, although while learning from the OEM remote (which works quite well) gives the "okay" indicator, the IR will still not work.

WTF?

More of those little aggravations......

Did you do the 2 part learning on the MX-900?

Seeing that none of the internal codes nor the learned codes work, I'm thinking it is a bad remote.

I'm also assuming you are using direct IR. Have you turned off the RF part of the remote? Shouldn't matter, but hey, I try everything before I send the remote back.

Also, does it send out IR codes properly for other devices?
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.

1. Remote works fine for LG 42LC2D and the Onkyo SR604, so I don't think it's a bad remote.

2. Using IR for TV only, RF for the rest of the devices.

3. 2 part learning? Have never heard the term. Please explain....

4. More than likely something I'm doing.....It always is...At least that's what tech support always claims.....lol

Assuming that you have already tested the Toshiba commands via IR instead of RF from the mx900 and that it is set to IR in the RF control page...2 step programming can be utilized in the Learn tab and you'll notice an arrow pointing down to a 2; choose that option for 2 step learning. Fresh batteries in the toshiba remote?
