Hello,

I have the mx-900 and I need discrete codes for the Sharp Aqous (preferably 37D90U - but willing to try anything), specifically power on/off, and the input select. Does anyone have access to these, or can anyone share how I might be able to get access to these?
Thanks

Man i hear yea im looking for discrete codes for the sharp aquos LC-32d40u. The codes i need are for direct input for the video inputs 1-5. I have a Elan system with componet on input 3 and a outdoor cam on input 1 for the door. The elan switches just fine but i need to send a code to tell the sharp to switch to imput 3. I called sharp and its like pulling teeth to get codes from them. I have 6 tvs in this system that i need to do this to. Im almost to the point of using the flashback button to switch the 2 inputs but im just asking for trouble down the road you know that it will get out of sync then my phone will ring and then hell will rain on me. :) Those people at sharp would not even let me talk to a tech at all. I don't think we will be using sharp tvs anymore. Too bad we sell a truck load of them. Any help from anyone on these codes hell ill pay yea................................... Thanks

PS17.

OK this is what i did today this may or may not help you. First i used the flashback button on the remote. Example-------My componet video is on video 3 and my cam is on video 4. Set the tv to video 3 then goto video 4. Now to switch back to video 3 just push the flashback button. So what this does is you can send a flashback button push to switch back and forth from each othere. Here is the 2nd one. you can push the source button then push the number key that you want to go to. Example--------same as above but with a source button push then a number button push. Video 3 to video 4. One source button push then the number 4 then one source button push then the number 3 for video 3. Its a pain in the ass but its right now the only way to get the tv to switch untill i can or someone can get the direct codes from sharp. Which will be will lets see NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Welcome to high end AV. :)

see yea

This is why we had to quit selling sharp TV's. It is a shame because that make a good product. We were one of the first Aquos dealers, and the engineers at Sharp wouldn't even talk to me about discrete codes. We put a bunch of sharps in a commercial building and could never make them work right becasue they didn't have discretes.

Yep, as far as I've been able to determine doing a manual 000 through 255 extended function code (EFC) search no Sharp TV I've owned has discretes for power or inputs. I've got a 46" sharp LCD and a 20" Sharp flat screen CRT. They both work with each other's remotes.

My strategy at the moment it to map states (ON or OFF) in an extended JP1 programmed OneForAll universal remote. When it arrives, I'm hoping my newly purchased Harmony 880 remote will do the same thing, keeping track of whether the TV is ON or OFF as I change activities, as well as what input it currently is using.

My Aquos LCD has a feature that lets me disable unused inputs. Once done, the INPUT toggle skips those inputs and gets quickly through the loop to the one I want. Entering a channel number is essentially a discrete for Antenna input. From that point one or two INPUT presses gets me to Component1 or HDMI1 respectively.

If it's helpful to know there ARE discrete sharp aquos codes right in the database, and i must have programmed 20 sharp aquos TV's in the last few years with ALMOST no problems. Usually the discretes work just fine!

I will say this, we've had about 2 units simply NOT respond to discrete codes and as with you folks we found sharp's tech support to be lacking in help.

Our theory is that different facilities may have built the units, some using slightly different materials or equipment which caused those units to respond to MOST but not ALL infrared codes from the database.

My guess is that if you swap out the actual TV you have, you might find the codes suddenly start working. Incidentally i typically am using codeset 326. Hope that helps.

having issues here with a brand new 80" sharp...all me buttons work....except the power ....have a urc 850. I've seen codes for the power for this tv, but is there a way to input 3 digit codes in a macro? Not a URC guru like most of you.

thanks
