Can somebody point me in the right direction (or does the functionality not exist)? I am trying to import some devices from another (older) file I have. However, all the devices import without issue, but I lose all the variables assigned to buttons. Am I missing something, or do these simply get dropped during the import?

thanks

No, Variables don't import. My best solution is start with the file you want to import and build the rest of the program around it.

many thanks for the responses. Seems I'm stuck, or have to flip things around and import the newly created screens into my old file.

For my password screen for the MX-3000 I have a text file containing the names of the variables I need and I create the variables before I import the device. That way when I import the device everything works as it should. If the variables are there BEFORE you import the device, all buttons will still be properly associated with the right variables.

OR

As KCThirstyEar says, start with that device and build the rest around it.

Eric,

Many thanks for the tip. I think this might be an easier solution for me right now. I'll start by dumping a list of my vars and enter them before importing the devices. Once again, many thanks to all who provided some help here.
