I own a URC-300 and MRF-100 at my house in NJ. The system works great. So I decide to by the same for my Condo in NYC.

That is where my problems started. Please note that the URC-300 with a standard Xantech IR repeater system works fine; I just wanted the RF capability. With all the components off and not touching the URC-300 the RF light on the MRF-100 flickers (regardless of where I reposition it); I can even make it glow by touching the antenna (I guess my body become a big antenna). Is there any way to fix this? Would using a MRF -200/250 stop this? If I used a MRF-200/250 can I use the URC-300 (I would hate to use a different control because I spend a significant amount of time setting it up the way I like)?

Any help would be appreciated

Your best bet is to try removing the antenna from the MRF-100 and seeing if that helps. Going to a different MRF will not help because you would have to have it set on ID "0" to use it with the URC-300 and it would suffer from the same RF interference. Also, you should post any future questions about the URC-300 in the Universal Remote Control "Consumer" forum.

Would a different MRF using an MX series remote solve this problem?

I would not be happy about reprogramming the remote but if it works, I may consider it.

If you're getting flickering no matter where you place the MRF-100 in the apartment, I doubt that going to an MX-800 or MX-850 with an MRF-200 or 250 would make any difference. It's even possible that there is so much RF interference that even an MX-900 or higher, using an MRF-350, wouldn't help.

It's also possible that it WOULD help, if you could get an MRF-350 that you could return.

However, it looks like you're on a lower budget than an MX-900 and above with an MRF-350.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.

It's more a matter of I hate to waste time and money than actual budget.

If an MRF-350 with an MX-900 would solve this problem, I may do it.
So the question is will they, and why?

Thank you for you help

Without trying it, there's no way to tell you that it will absolutely solve the problem, but it does give you the best chance. The "why" is that both the MX-900 and MRF-350 use narrow band RF which is less likely to be affected by RF interference in you apartment.
