I've never heard of having problems moving the buttons around in the LCD editor. It's always worked for me. I know it doesn't solve your problem, but there should be no reason to access the TV page directly, as long as you have properly built macros that always change to the correct input.
As for the MX500, M1-M3 were great if you know what they do. URC got rid of them because if someone besides yourself were to pick up the remote, they would have no clue what those buttons did. As for the chapter skip, just put them on the Ch+ and Ch- buttons, or the LCD screen.
