I'm going out on a limb and assume this is a serious question.

Alt - P - C

Rename

Save

Click on program, then select Create and name devices.

Double click on the device you wish to rename!

That all!

Yes, this is a serious question..

and thanks..it worked..but the editor is confusing and not consistent.

My screen on the left shows
MX900
-Watch
---Wii <---this should say MCE
---Box
---DVD
---MCE
---TiVo
---TV
etc

My Watch screen (on the remote) shows:

Watch
---------
MCE
WII
Box
DVD
PS2
TiVo

Alt P C shows what the remote shows

However, to change the first item on the remote...from Wii to MCE, I have to change the second item..Wii to MCE

MCE
WII <---this gets changed to MCE
Box
DVD
PS2
TiVo

Another example of the quirkiness of the editor is just for a test.

I change the first item..MCE to A so it looks like the second column, but it changes it to the 3rd column
MCE A MCE
WII WII WII
BOX BOX BOX
DVD DVD DVD
PS2 PS2 A
TIVO TIVO TIVO

Best not to do any of that editing on the actual tree, but rather always in Program -> Create & Name Devices.
