How does everyone go about customizing buttons that they currently have in MX3000 editor. Say for example I have gone RC and downloaded some of the award winning themes and wanted to customize them. What program do I need to have to be able to customize the buttons. I am not trying to spend 900 on photoshop either@!!
Anything will help much thanks!!Q

Paint, Picture it, Fireworks, Paint Shop Pro, Corel, and the list goes on. If you want to do some big things you need to use big things. Everyone has thier editor of choice, but the more sophisticated you get the more $$ you spend. Pick one of these (or others) and stick to it and learn it inside and out. Once you need to do something it is not capable of, learn something better.

Here you go: PhotoShop ExpressIt's not full-featured, so it's not for the serious designer. But it's easy, it's legal, and it's free. Best regards, Dale

I use Paint Shop Pro, which is now owned by Corel. Yeah, the pros out there mostly use Photoshop, but there are many other that Jimmy already listed. I was using the Cinnamon template from the guy who second place in the template contest. I then bought his Ember template since it had so many more buttons and pages. The thing that was nice about this is if you had a request, he would customize some buttons for you. He was missing some station logos and I requested them. By the next day I had all the buttons I was looking for. [Link: pollensoftware.com]

GIMP is FOSS and has much of the same functionality that photoshop has, at least as far as designing stuff for the MX-3000 is concerned. If you know someone who is a student or are one yourself, you can get a cheap copy of photoshop. I have seen cs2 as low as like $80 since cs3 hit. The only thing is, you aren't supposed to use it for commercial gains. I bought cs2 for $120 when it first came out as an educational copy. -aedile-
