Hi, I found some missing favorites channel to my setup on this site:

http://www.satlogo.com/

I'm wondering how do I bring those files into the editor and fit it into those favorites channel blank boxes. I'm not even sure if it would work.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Jack

Right click - add image - click import button.

The images from that site are too large so you'll have to scale them down to match your other logos...plus they aren't transparent images so it's going to look like crap unless your background is white. You'll need some photoshop skills to make this work correctly.

Ok, thanks I'll get it done by someone else, I don't have any skills with photoshop. So I have to use the blank white buttons?

Thanks

You don't have to do anything....it all depends on how 'clean' you want the display to look. IMO, done right = transparent images so they blend into the background. Notice how the stock logos have transparency so you can see the background through them and the edges are not hard? That's the right way to do it and is easy in photoshop. If you have found some channel logos that you like, have someone scale them to the same size like the rest that you have and make them transparent.

Ok, I got my icons reduced to 120 X 70. (same size as the others buttons) But when I Right click - add image - click import button the image windows appear but I can't drag my icon in it. (LCD button or image)Those icon will be used as LCD buttons. (not just an image)

I must have missed something there.

Anyone can explain?

I know I ask many questions, so thanks to all of you on this forum who helped me out with this remote project. I programmed this bad boy WAY OVER what I expected!!! Maybe I'm a lucky newbie but beside my Rf issue (before I signed in) everything was easily done with your help.

Thanks again

Jack

You don't need to drag it over (or should I say, you can't drag it over). When you click on the screen layout and right click / add image or add lcd button, a generic gray box will appear. Make sure that is active, click import button in the image panel, locate your image and double click it. The gray box will now become your image.

I have PNG & JPEG files does it have to be .*rcf?
I had no problem at all setting my variables and if/else-true/false statements, but now I can't import some stupid icons!!!

Thanks Tweeterguy but it seems there's something I do wrong. (I don't know what)

I can't get my icons in the editor, if I do, it shuts down! That is the final step of my programation but I just can't do it. If you guys understand my issue answer me, if not I'll just forget this. This is just a question of look afterall...

But if you can help me thanks

Jack

Jack:

What's giving you fits here is that you're thinking of a graphic file on your hard drive as though it were a button in MX-Editor. But it's not.

A button has a lot of attributes, as you've already discovered. One of those attributes is the image that appears on an unpressed button. Another is the image that appears on a pressed button.

So, once you have a button in MX-Editor, you need to populate that button with some images. To do that, select the button in the editor, then look in the Property pane of MX-Editor. Directly under the word "Normal," you'll see an arrow pointing down and another pointing up. Click the arrow that points down. The dialog box that opens lets you choose an image file from your hard disk. The image you choose will be the Normal button state image. Now you can do the same thing for the Pressed button state.

Note that the two images MUST be the exact same pixel dimensions. If you try to bring in a new image that doesn't match the size of the opposite button state, you'll get an error. So with an existing button, you may need to delete both of the existing images to be able to bring in graphics of a different size.

That's all there is to it. You were just thinking, "This image is a button," when the correct way to think of it is, "This image gets applied to a button.

Happy programming!

Best regards,
Dale

Thanks Dale!

I just try it out and it worked. (I can't believe I got behind on something that simple)
I'm not the guy you deal with graphics usually. (I get someone to do my photoshop duties)

Anyway, thanks a lot, (for the time you spent making the brand logos as well)

Jack
