ive got the same setup with my 705 and have done quite
a few the same way for customers. the only thing is, you
have to set the output strength to EXACTLY the right intensity
to get it to work, its very picky, and every one is different.
my msc 400 came in today though so im currently in the
process of coding for rs232 control :D

You are correct! Thank you so much. I now have it working via the IR in port. I just slowly adjusted the intensity screw until it worked. There is just a very very small window that actually works. I tried doing this before, but I tried more if a low, med, high approach. You really have to move it really slow until it works. Thanks, Chad

Your welcome. I played with the txsr803/mrf300 combo i had on display at my store a couple years ago for quite a while before i could get it to work, and then i finally found the right spot. ever since then theyve gone fairly easily for me. definately have to take it slow, and just keep trying till you find the sweet spot.

I have a Sony TV and
had no idea the “Control S” had this same function. I
now have my TV working fine with the mono cable ...

Wow! I guess you learn something new every day. My 60" Sony TV is controlled by an IR blaster from an MRF-350, and it never even dawned on me that the "Control S" jack would work that way. I always assumed that Sony used some kind of proprietary system.

Just out of curiosity, will a stereo cable work? I heard it would but don't have my new remote in the mail yet to try it with...I just have the mrf-350
