Can I ask a DMX question for you? A client of mine wishes to try it and I've not used it myself. Isn't the cataloguing a matter of entering UPC codes for each disc? Is there more work than that involved when discs are added?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

That's pretty much it, Tom. DMX uses "DVD Profiler" (down-loadable on the Internet for free) as an entry front end. If users want they can even get a hand held bar code reader (not really worth it in my opinion). On rare occasion the on-line db doesnt have the title being input (obscure holiday / religious stuff mainly) and the info would have to be input manually. After inputting the UPCs the user has to right click on each title and enter the Location and Slot data for the disk ( the "string" that defines the Player the disk is located in and the related Slot Number ). After this is done the entire collection is exported (in HTML format). That's it for the front end (DVD Profiler) You then run the DMX application which creates all the pages that allow access the collection and appends them to the appropriate RCC file. and them you pull up the MX editor with that new file ( a button in DMX actually does this step for you) and download the rcc. That is it.
