I have a mx-850 that is very new. IT just started randomly rebooting itself. It acts like the batteries are being quickly pulled out and re inserted. It did it about 10 times while I was trying to watch a 30 minute show i dvr'd.

I haven't clear the memory and re installed the file yet. My off the cuff diagnosis is the unit is defective, probably bad ram. Maybe corrupt file.

Any ideas??

Try putting fresh batteries in it. I have seen almost dead batteries cause this numerous times, but I've never seen an MX-850 be defective this way.

I don't even think a short could do that. Eric is probably right. Check your batteries and contacts. Be sure you are using regular alkaline batteries.

Thank you,
