Denon CI series - ramp for volume control works ok (MX900 and MSC400). Yamaha RX-V2700 - can't make it work. I guess there are some compatibility issues, but it's not broken completly...i guess... With the Denon, do you get just one volume command issued when you tap the button briefly? The ramp (repeat) works fine here too. It's the one-click scenario that's the issue.

URC acknowledged the issue and said they are working on a fix. The workaround for now is to use the macro window in the remote editor and add a press & hold repeating command.

Thnx Dave....just so I'm clear...the workaround would be to create a press/hold macro (on the handheld) with the MSC400 trigger as the command?
If so....how would you tell the handheld to repeat the command (trigger) if held for longer than 1sec?
If (press time) >=1 Second Trigger (channel up) ----------> How does it know to repeat this? else Trigger (channel up)

If (press time) >=1 Second Trigger (channel up) ----------> How does it know to repeat this? else Trigger (channel up) I have created two smart macro versions of my directional RS-232 commands, the alternate version being the ramping one.
E.g.: *Up *Up repeat
In the MX-900 editor, I select the 'Up' button and change the macro type from 'Normal' to 'Press-Hold'. I open the universal browser with my msc file, then drag the 'Up' macro trigger to the macro window for the up button in the 'Before' tab, then the 'Up repeat' trigger in the 'After' tab.
Hope this makes sense. I'm not sure what the setup would be in the other editors. The idea here is that you have the remote send different triggers depending on whether the button is tapped or held down.
Of course it's not exactly the same, because if ramping was working as it should, press and hold would send one command, pause a bit, then repeat the command. Here press and hold will not send the first command, it will just start repeating after the press time (which cannot be less than one second). But it does allow for navigation and repeat for directional buttons. I still hope they fix it fast though.

Old thread I am waking up. I am having the repeat issue with the B&K CT receivers with RS232. Trying to switch over from IR control, and vol ramping jumps 2 DB at a time. More importantly like mute which if repeated twice mutes and unmutes. I have the lateset update for the MSC-400 and hoped that older issues were fixed. Any input or fixes other that press and hold stated above? Sorry if this has been answered but this is the first old thread that relates to my situation.

OK, think I got mute to work fine with RS232 and MSC-400. I unchecked (repeat while button is pressed). Still Volume is double executed, 2 db at a time- not that big of a deal but wondering if anyone has fixed the double commands as stated above when the box is checked. There may be other situations I will come across that I am not thinking about right now. Thanks.

This has never been fixed - which blows my mind. But what are you gonna do.

Thank you for confirming that. I have created the push and hold macro for ramping and will deal with the 2 DB increments.......... Thanks for the response!

Create two smart macros, one with repeat checked and one without. The one without use trigger when the button is pressed and the repeated command when the button is held. It allows you to go up/down 1 at a time if tapping the button but when holding down it repeats 2 at a time.

Thanks BobL, I have already done that but for some reason the unpressed trigger macro still moves 2 at a time. The press macro moves 4 at a time. So it is still double. I can live with this but it is unusual. I have played with the ramp times without further success. Unless the serial string can be altered I don't have any ideas.
