Do you not have a c:\?

Sorry, I didn't notice that the post composer here hid what I wrote because I put it in brackets:

Error: Access to c:\(whatever path I try) is denied.

Using the VFDTools program when trying to extract I keep getting the following error, no matter where I attempt to extract to: Error: Access to the path 'C:\(whatever path I try)' is denied

I have tried on Windows 7 and 8. Tried setting properties on the exe file to Run as Administrator. Tried it from an Administrator command prompt.

Feels like something easy I am missing. Anyone have any tips?

1.Create a folder called "Extract" and place it on the desktop.
2.Place the VFD folder containing the VFDTool.exe file onto your desktop as well.
3. put the ColFile.vfd file that you want to extract into the VFD folder.
3. Open the command prompt
4. Here is what I type.  (my user name is jkrug)
     Desktop\VFD\VFDTools.exe -x "C:\Documents and Settings\jkrug\Desktop\Extract" "C:\Documents and Settings\jkrug\Desktop\VFD\Colfile.vfd"

That was on my windows xp machine.  it may be different if you use windows vista or 7.

Discovered 2 things:
  1. The files for the graphics themes don't have to be in the vfd file for CCP to recognize and use them. You can leave them "raw" in the appropriate folder and as long as they are named correctly it will work.
  2. I knew it was something simple, and the simple thing was my dopiness. I reversed the destination and the target file order and that's why it wasn't working.
Thanks, sorry for the waste of time.

Sorry pretty green. Where do you find the size and file type etc for creating your own skins? And how do you add the to the ccp software for use?

For the mx-880? It is somewhat remote specific. Also, nice bump of a classic thread.
