jcbremotes,
After you set up the "favorites" activity, the only way to assign commands to the buttons is to use the browser. Save your current file, then go into the browser and on the left side, load in that saved file. Now you can just drag commands from that saved file to the button into your activity.

Thanks Chuck. I have been able to successfully do this, dragging the commands to the new "icon" buttons. What I cannot figure out is how to add "screen size" from the tv, sound fields from the amp, etc. The Favorites activity does not show up in tune up for me add the buttons to so I can then drag the commands to. With my normai watch cable activity, I created the activity then used tuneup to copy and paste the commands from the devices into blank soft buttons. I attended the training, but the dealer I support has sold only 2 so far, so I use my remote as a learning experience. Kinda drives my wife nuts.

Finally figured it out. I was having trouble getting the buttons to paste when editing the activity.

Great thread!
Client just got an 810 and I'm getting the hang. However, I have not been able to get a single button to span more than one slot. Help pls. dsp81? anyone else?

You need to slice the images up and put them in each spot. For example, to span the top row, you need 2 images. To span 2 rows, you need 4. To span all 3 rows, you need 6 images. This differs from the 980, so can cause some confusion.
