You should read my other thread. Try the suggestions that Eric gave me and others. Ultimately, I had to gamble and do a factory reset. Good news is that for some reason, Live Update downloaded a new version which worked... SJ

I tried factory reset it still does not work, now I have the default configuration. I called tech support yesterday & they told me to try another computer. they said that no one else has had this problem.

Did you try to do a "live update"? That's what fixed mine.

I'm getting to the point, where I'm never going to do another live update. I've been burnt twice now with this. I wonder what their QA processes are for older remotes for live updates. SJ

yeh i did. i guess i will call them again on mon. not very optomistic. i bought this remote over the pronto 9600 becuase of reliability issues I had with my past prontos. i guess this is just as bad. I spent a month configuring a gravity templete to my system & I love it. wish it would work.

What is the error message you are getting? What URC icons do you have in your system tray once your start the editor? Does your MX3000 connect if you DON'T start the editor? You can "right click" on the icon and select CONNECT. Sometimes this helps.

Also, I loaded a sample file into the editor (just do a NEW sample - I used aliens) prior to loading my own file in. Try and get that to load first and then load your own file.

1st I open the mx3000 editor then connect the usb cable to the remote the computer makes the usb connecting sound but not the remote . the remote makes no sound when connected & no message comes up. There is 1 MX300 icon on the bottom right side of the screen when I right click on it it reads connect or exit i tried both. when I click download is just reads check connection.I will try the sample file. thanks for your time. Tom

You are getting something different than my issues have been. I always could get the device connected. that's your primary issue - different than my recent problems. Default files won't help if you can't get things connected. Probably best to talk to URC again. Just a guess, but maybe you could uninstall the MX3000 editor from your computer and then reinstall with the original software you have. Get it working with the default files and then do a live update before trying your own file. This stuff should be easier! SJ

How old is your MX-3000? Mine was from late 2004 and consequently had the older proprietary mini-USB port. Mine stopped connecting to the computer and the reason was damage to the port. Take a careful look at the port on the remote to make sure it's not damaged. If it is the only solution is a replacement. I called URC and initially they told me it could be repaired but that turned out to be incorrect. They replaced the unit and I was then able to upoad and download again without problems.
