I apologize if this has been discussed already. I was thinking of replacing my Mx-850 with a 950 and had a couple of questions:

1) Does the 950 come standard with a recharging base ? I saw one site that was selling them with one. This would be my #1 reason for making the switch. My mx850 really devours batteries fast !

and

2) will my 850 files open with the 950 software ?

Any other pros and cons ?

Thanks,
Dan

No, they're different remote layouts so different file types. The databases, however, are the same, and you can import learned codes via the universal browser.

1) yes it comes with a rechargable battery.

2) not exactlly if you don't know how to import them it is kind of tricky

Thanks guys-- Well I have imported many different files in the past and have found that I have to relearn how to do it each time ! Anybody feel like giving me a quick tutorial :) ? When I get the 950 editor can I open the 850 files in the browser and then import the learned codes for specific devices ? Or I suppose if worst comes to worst I could just set up the 950 and teach it individual codes from the 850 ....ARGHHH. Seriously, you would think that an upgrade such as this (switching from an 850 to a 950) should be a piece of cake.

Yes, you can drag individual codes over from your 850 to the 950 using the universal browser function in the editor software.

It does come with a charger base.
