Well, I bit the bullet and did a factory reset. After the reset, the software would not even recognize the MX-3000 as "a valid device". Then (for the heck of it), I did a live update. It did download a new update (must be really recent). Now it seems to work fine, but sometimes you still get the "invalid device" message, but by disconnect/reconnecting the remote, it seems to be able to work. A little flaky, but.... Also, the new little icon is now GONE. Hope the next time it shows up, it works correctly. Anyway, back in business for now. Thanks. SJ

No, I did a factory reset (like mentioned above in post #3). If the live update would not have worked, I would have been toast as the software and MX-3000 would not link AT ALL. At least I had my original file loaded. When you do a factory reset, you get the default file that came with the system when you purchased it. I.E. Worthless...

The latest version that I downloaded a week ago is what caused all of my problems. Since there was an even never version, I believe that URC must have fixed something. Thank goodness. Maybe Eric could comment if he reads this thread. Good news, is that I am now up and running again....

Yeah, I'm not sure why live update pulled in another version. But, glad it did. SJ
