I have tried hooking the IR in jack of the Pioneer 94txh Reciever to the Universal Remote MRF-350 IR receiver out jack with a 3.5 mm mono jack to jack and it doesn't work, although it does work with a blaster. Is there something I need to program in the MRF-350 or the 94txh to make it work?

I will ask the easy question. Are you trying to use the main1 in or the control in?

I have a MRF-300 and the VSX-84 works fine with it.
So I'll ask, did you use the same IR OUT of the 350 to the IR In of the 94TXH? If you used another IR Out did you assign it properly?

I plugged a 3.5 mm mono cable into the main1ir input of the pioneer and then to one of the outputs on the 350. I guess I don't understand the rest of the question- do you mean I need to program the 350 to output only on the specific IR out instead of using the default? I have not programmed the 350 at all, everything is at default. I have a MX-850. Thanks for the help.

In the program for the MX-850 there is a rf control to set-up the emitter outputs on the MRF-350. On most recievers(Denon, pioneer etc) when you use the ir in on the back it turn the front ir in off. If you did not setup the rf control on the remote it is sending ir & rf at the same time on the 0 id of the mrf-350. If you were sending ir & rf at the same time, the pioneer was working becouse it was seeing the ir and when you plugged in the ir on the back it shut off the front ir and stopped working. If you are not shure, hire a pro to fix it.

The MX850 will only work with a MRF-300 not the MRF350 Narrow Band Receiver!!

Effective November 2006 the MX350, MX650, and MX850 were all switched over to narrow band transmitters.

This sounds like your plugging into the IR Receiver port on the MRF300. You should be using one of the outputs (1-6).

If you are using one of the outputs, try adjusting the gain of the output.

For the heck of it, try a stereo mini-plug cable.
If there is any voltage present at the Pioneer that will by-pass it.

Sorry

Too funny, as I have an email from last week from URC stating otherwise...why do even I bother....I'm just gonna test it out for myself.

Edit: works perfect...dare I say better than the 900?

All MX350, MX650, and MX850's manufactured after 11/06 have the narrow band transmitting antenna. Open the battery cover and look at the series of numbers under the model number. The last 4 numbers in the first sequence indicate the manufacture date eg.xxxxxx1106, then comes the individual serial #.

I stand corrected....In fact, Hank Eisengrin stated that exactly at his cedia class.

Some old URC literature ended up in my backpack and it reads the opposite, sorry.
