Does anyone have any discreet power on and off codes for the Marantz DVD players? Most notably the DV4001 and DV6001? The ones listed in the hex database on this site don't seem to work. Thanks.

The "play" button usually works as a discreet power on command. I've had to use that workaround several times for Marantz.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Me too, and even on a Marantz. Did my first MX-900 today. Used PLAY to turn the DVD player on in the DVD macro that also turns on the system. The OFF macro has a DVD PLAY command near the beginning and a DVD POWER command at the end. If the DVD player was on, it turns off. If it was off, it turns on, then turns off during the macro.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

If you email me, I can send you a device file for Marantz DVD players that has discrete power. I haven't gotten around yet to uploading it to the files section.

That would be great, thanks. You can send it to [email protected].

I have been using the play button workaround. For some reason, the DV4001 I was working with yesterday wouldn't work. I tried pressing play on the original remote and it would not power on. I ended up having to leave the dvd player on since I had no discreet power codes or workarounds.

Have you tried all of the buttons?

When faced with a new DVD player to program, I turn it off and push every button on the remote to see what will turn it on. One really dumb Yamaha DVD player turned on with the EJECT button!
