Thanks again - I managed as far as generating the 256 codes. But how do I know which of the 256 is which, e.g. Volume up.
I have tried to copy the code under no 216 into a button of the remote and tested it - nothing happens. But I am not sure if anything should happen as I do not know what command is under code no 216.
On the windows calculator, what am I actually converting and from what to what? from decimal to hex? what for?
I have to ask for a bit more guidance.

edit:
I think I figured out which command is which. I have then tried copy/paste command 224 (vol up, right?), but nothing happens.
