Did you try Video 0670 on the grey remote? If it didn't respond to any buttons (it should respond to power and many others), then the IR protocol is different than the DWM-370 or DRW-500.
Video 0873 shares some signals (60.196) with 0670, but some are 49.206. So it is worthwhile to try a large number of buttons with 0873.
If you can get a response to any button, we can probably figure out or exhaustively search for the other functions.
I took your post with me, and tried the "Red" with both codes; Video 0873 "reacted" after entering a second time. The tray opened (?) and then the DVD shut off(???). I did try 0670 w/the Grey, and no response I could find.
No need for further search, as my friend (who is elderly) wished to keep it simple, and decided to stick with the players OEM remote. I merely set up macros on his Comcast to set up the TV for optimized DVD playing, and a second macros to return him to TV after watching.
In short, he's happy, so I'm happy!
Quick questions though, how did you search/find the files on hifi-remote.com? I searched all the file searches, forums, etc. and came up with nothing. Obviously I'm doing something wrong in the search function.
