Thanks to all who have responded. I've downloaded and tried the free version of DVD Profiler and it looks fairly complete and useful. Rather than using Excel (too much like the office!) I think I'll give it a whirl and look into a "smart" remote (the Harmony looks interesting) so that I can retire my remote control "collection".
