No, the remote was not dropped. It was working this morning. Was watching TV and went to use the "mute" button. The remote was completely dark and hitting "home" or the on button didn't do anything.

I figured it lost its charge (I have not charged it in two days). With any luck it will work when I take it off the charger and hit "on." I hope.

If it does not go on I'm simply going to tell my friends what happened. I am NOT going to try to change the battery, or even remove the back since there is no reset button. Perhaps the battery is bad, perhaps it is something else. Given the price of this remote I am NOT going to futz with it.

OK then if it does not charge clean the contacts with a little alcohol and a Q tip or equivalent and try to charge again
