I disagree that implementing variable checks would create firmware upgrade problems. URC has a LOTof remotes and a LOT of different software to mantain. All that product and software can be a nightmare to juggle a firmware release. Nevo's line is lean and focused using only one software.

Also, variable checks are essential to any real control system. Power sensors are NOT the same things. Power sensors serve as a bulletproof way to perform an action based on a power on/off. That is it. Variables can perform actions based on conditions (what page your on, what you have pressed/set, or anything you can make up). NEVER use variables to track power and expect the remote to work well. However, basing page flips, transitions, screen text, etc on variables can go a long way.

Time based macros need to be on a processor, not a remote. Nevo needs to come out with a brain / processor where macros are stored and triggered by the remote. They are more reliable, quicker, and can run based on time regardless of te remote's battery level, function, or location.
