OK, now I understand. When the Vizio remote doesn't blink twice after you entered a set up code, that means it didn't recognize the code, either because the setup code isn't in the remote, or the procedure wasn't correct (but your description is typical for UEI remotes), or the remote is defective. The VUR9M is new, and the Vizio site doesn't have instructions for it yet, so I do wonder if the instructions are exactly right.

I had asked you to blink back the setup code that the Cox remote is using, following the instructions in the link, in case the setup code was different than expected. But the VUR9 isn't sending the right IR signals, so you don't need to do that.

Hopefully Vizio support will help you, but one guess is that the VUR9 actually uses 4 digit setup codes, and you should be entering 1877 rather than 01877.
