You can use a PCM-8 for the IR and one way RS232... Always be aware of what you REALLY need to have 2-way control over so you don't waste your 2-way RS232.. And yes you can stack your XP-8's....
I try to use 232 on TV's whenever possible just to make for a neater installation. I didn't realize the PCM-8 was finally shipping.
