The RK3 never goes to sleep, so it will always get the page flips. The screen goes off after the timeout, but it is still alive. I have set several up like this. Even though you can't see it while the screen is off (and the page flip doesn't immediately make the screen turn back on), when you wake it up it is on the screen you told it to go to.

The T2c and T3v act like you describe, though. I was told it is a matter of battery life that they don't keep their zigbee on when they are sleeping so they don't hear the page flips.
