Hi. I bought this remote after reading some of the posts in this forum, thinking "how bad could the battery consumption be". After about a month of use I now know it's bad. I think the remote is extremely cool, except for the glaring bug of the motion sensor being too damn sensitive. I've read some of the posts on how to disable it by removing or cutting the "SW1" switch, but I'm not all together savvy with opening up gadgets and making modifications like that. And I read one post where a user cut the wire from the "SW1" switch and his remote was then rendered inoperable. I'd hate to make the same mistake. I also checked out the Kameleon web site and it discourages the use of NiMH rechargeable batteries. Does anyone have any idea why that would be? And if anyone could offer any advice on how to proceed if I eventually decide to try disabling the motion sensor I would appreciate it. I have the general idea - either desolder the switch off (I've never soldered before), or cut the wire to the switch. I'm looking more for any tips or insights on how a beginner should do the mod correctly, pitfalls to avoid, etc. Thanks so much.
