Lyndel's right, it is in the docking station. The fuse is fairly easy to repair if you're ok with a soldering iron. Do a forum search for a description of the fuse and the particulars as to it's size. Wouldn't it be better to exchange with Maplin however? By the way, dock and cradle are the same thing. Did you mean dock and remote?

Just to be sure what's going on, try the following: with the dock plugged in and the remote OFF the cradle, turn out the room lights and make sure the dock lights aren't softly glowing. If the lights are present - the remote may be bad. If they aren't, leave the dock plugged in and after an hour see if the wall transformer is warm. If it is, it's probably the dock, if it's not warm it may be the transformer that's bad.
