I have to add to what Totem said. It can be said that it is a great TV when not compared to a better TV like Sony in that size. Proscan will an the advantage in price, but the Sony would have the advantage in shadow detail, black level ,and discretes. P.S. I am panny plasma lover. I am just mentioning the Sony because Joewood is considering an LCD TV. I have a customer that purchased a Proscan 40 something inch from Circuit City 2 years ago and it is still kicking. Originally I had it setup with HD cable and about 2 months ago I changed it over to Directv HD DVR. I was reminded of how gray the blacks were and how bland the colors were. Off axis viewing is definitely not as good as other brand name TVs. The customer is still happy with the set because it was within her budget and it is still working. So to her she made a great purchase.
