Your forgetting that there is more to a remote than the remote itself. The MX-880 you have to remember has the ability to communicate with a processor (capable of serial control and video/voltage sensing.). In addition it has the ability of variables which can really be useful for page flips and things like that.
What I am trying to say is that a remote is only as powerful as the a) the program b) the programmer. The design and cool factor get old very quick.
