I've seen some "award winning" pics of outdoor installations where [it looks like] the projector is mounted on a lift that raises into the home's attic.  Some even had drop down rear projection screens so you would be looking towards the house to view the image.  I think that would take care of the outdoor weather aspect, but then you have to deal with all the fun of housing a nice projector in an attic.
