I'm having some issues getting these two to work together over RS-232...

This is basically my first time using rs-232 so bear with me. The sequence im supposed to be sending is 02h**PON03h for power on. MSC Editor displays this in its database as //x02**PON//x03. However, When entered manually i get /x02**PON/x03 (notice the slashes) and this manually enetered appears as a different hex sequence. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, is the ** "unit ID" supposed to be a specific character set or just **.
