I use rubbing alcohol. I carry a box of the little first aid wipes with me for getting electrical tape goo and emitter stickies off.

You dont even have to rub hard. Just dab it and the glue will break down pretty quick.

Be careful of painted surfaces. Sometimes the paint can come off.

Also.. be careful rubbing any of the highgloss plastic TV bezels. That stuff is a magnet for polishing scratches. I usually just dab the alcohol wipe and wait a few seconds then i wipe in one direction (left to right no circular pattern) to remove it.
