Wow that is ridiculous. Especially for people like us who have really given the prontos a great following. I've owned three prontos so far. And these two are for gifts for two different family members homes who have been eyeing mine for some time now.
Of course on the custom installation side, I'm sure they are glad to see a manufacturer supporting their trade. So I suppose its a two sided coin.
One would think the two worlds could coexist peacefully though. There are only so many people willing to take on the programming task of these remotes. I don't see why we should be forced to purchase them from custom installers if we are willing to program them by ourselves. Perhaps they have received complaints from users who buy them unaware of the programming time needed to get the best out of them? Either way I'm suprised by this move. It does explain why I have only seen them for sale on one website so far. Interesting...
