I'm looking for the next generation control device for my system.

I like the look of the RS232 and power sensing capability of this remote (with it's extender), but the big question is............

Can I get status information from my receiver using RS232 and display it on the remote.

From what I've read, it doesn't look like it.

If you can't then that strikes me as a major short coming.

I fancy trying to get hold of some crestron or AMX kit and having a tinker with that.
Or more likely, hack my own control system together with a tablet PC or similar and a control PC hooked with RS232 or network to my gear.
