I set my configuration up as Denon amp on IR1 and DVD on IR2 with the amp volume and mute controlled on the DVD device page hard buttons.
Everything worked as it should.
I have each device IR codes page as a separate device and link to them.
This is the only place I specify that an extender is used and the IR port needed to be used.
