This RFX 9400 is driving me crazy!

I am scratching my head on this one! Seems so simple but....

Cable box plugged into IR Port #2. I have the volume, mute hardbuttons within the Cable Device linked to the amp, on a different IR port, #1.

These hardbuttons, when in the cable device, will not make the amp volume work.

However, if you go to the amp device and use the hardbuttons there, with the exact same RC5 code links, the amp responds fine.

It seems like the RFX9400 is not letting the "Link" use a different IR port?

I thought maybe they needed to share the same IR port but that doesn't make sense either. If that was the case, then what would you do with the DVD device hardbuttons since they would share the same volume, mute hardbuttons on the amp.

Any ideas?
