I second this. The message you are getting has nothing to do with the software. It's telling you that the remote is not being detected by windows properly. I've received this message myself many times. Resetting the remote has always done the trick for me. One thing to keep in mind here is that if you reset the remote while it's in the cradle you'll need to undock, then redock the remote before windows will attempt to detect it properly. Sometimes it takes undocking it, then docking it a couple times before windows once again begins detecting it properly. In a few cases I even had to reset the remote a second time.
