You were correct that my primary issue was not knowing networking well. I used the Windows networking diagnostic tool to determine my network parameters. With the laptop directly connected to the RFX9600 I then configured the extender with the subnet mask and gateway. I assigned an IP address to it that was close to, but different from, existing IP addresses. In the Pronto Pro config file system properties setup for the extender I then entered that same IP address.

It now works. However, it isn't consistant. When it works it's great. I have it controlling a few IR devices thus far and yesterday set up one device via RS232. However, not infrequently it says "command failed" when I press a button on the panel. If I wait a short while, or keep trying, it usually starts working. Obviously, that won't be adequate. Could it be my access point? I am considering trying a new wireless router. Any thoughts?
