It's the router with the Orange LED (See first post)...

Quoting: "Remarkably the router shows an orange light at the connection, other connections are showing green lghts."

Maybe the router is not industry-standard G compliant. Has the firware on the router been upgraded since it was installed? For Linksys routers, you almost always want to stay on the latest firmware.
