Well, now I've done it!

I tried to do the firmware update again to fix the lockup problem.

It gets to the "Tap center of the crosshairs" screen; I tap the first crosshair; it beeps, and the second crosshair in the lower right corner appears; no further screen taps do anything, not even a beep.

The only Hard Key that makes a beep is the Backlight button. All four Firm Keys beep, but nothing happens. The backlight does not time out.

Turning off the power switch works, but when I turn it back on, it reverts to that second Tap Crosshairs screen.

It's a BRICK. I'm going to need four original remotes to watch a movie tonight, and I'll have to turn the lights off by hand.

This is soooooo 20th Century!
