I ran an RFX9600, a PC, and an Escient DVDM-100 on a Linksys

I never really had any problems with this setup.

I can't speak about your set up. But I work in many networks were bridging them together have prove them questionable unreliable; temporary connection loss, long periods of data transmission (3 times as a wire connection), time wasted reestablishing link, and a possible open door for hackers.

The only devices capable to create reliable bridge are Cisco branded and are way more expensive than the RFX9600 and the Linksys mentioned. Even then, if you deploy them in cities like New York they are guaranteed to fail at any time due to the amount of wireless networks, phones, and many antennas posted thruout the city!

However, note that when running in "Bridge" mode, the
WAP54G did not act as an access point. Hence, I changed
to wired network with the WAP54G acting as a Wireless
Repeater to get things working quite nicely.

Again, you should consider the "wire" solution available for devices that will talk to each others back and forth thru your network, unless you are trying to communicate with your dummy printer.
