BTW I'm just letting Windows install the driver. How would
I reinstall the driver?

When you connect the Pronto, you should be able to find this back in the "device manager". If you then go into "properties", "driver tab", you are able to uninstall the driver for this device.
After this, when you connect the Pronto again via USB the drivers should be automatically re-installed.

Normally when you connect a Pronto in firmware update mode to a PC, a drive letter should always appear.

The method I described is the manual version of what the upgrade tool normally does automatically for you. It makes it easier to see what is going wrong.
